Spanish Charm

I'm so in love with this beautiful Spanish style home. It reminds me of this home I used to live in Glendale for a brief time with all the Spanish influences. I love how lived in this home looks and all the rustic architectural details are driving me nuts.. such as the stone wall, wooden beams, and the porous fireplace (I'm assuming it's concrete.)

I'm really not a fan of those black leather sofas but in this home, it works so well.

Now, let's talk about the blue and white chevron tiles in the kitchen with the army of Spanish men playing instruments. Wouldn't this make cooking that much more enjoyable? I might actually stay in the kitchen and cook rather than burning food!

Holiday Decor Guide, Part One: My Room

Ok, I admit I'm a bit late on decorating for the holidays. Traveling and working 12 hours a day has left me too exhausted and overwhelmed to decorate my own home. Thankfully to my rescue, T.J. Maxx/Marshalls had everything I needed to put me in the Holiday spirit. On one trip, I filled up my entire cart and was pleasantly shocked to hear my total was less than half of what I was expecting to pay.

It was a Mad Tea Party

Kenzie, a fellow LA blogger showed up with the best Mad Tea Party outfit! I'm inspired to wear my sequin dress with a button up like her.

There was a photo booth where you could instantly upload the photos to your twitter/facebook so like bloggers, we took tons of pictures.

My really good friends Patrick and Rod (my fashion week parter in crime) showed up. Tosha who is also an LA blogger came out and left with a few pairs of Steve Maddens.

This pretty girl said her best friend introduced her to my blog and despite her finals, came out to support me! So sweet!

Bethany brought her best friend, cute dancer boyfriend and the prettiest little girl! They were all so sweet and pretty (yes, I called a man pretty. He really was!)

Look who showed up to my party? All the girls were screaming...

with Sheryl whom I met at an event awhile back and became really good friends.

My last outfit (first outfit here & second outfit here) for Steve Bring's It campaign is all about being dressy yet still practical for hosting a tea party. I'm wearing the perfect grannie boots that aren't so witchy but quite adorable. I love the shade of these boots and the ashy look of it gives it that extra patina.

For those who are thinking of hosting a party, here are my 5 party tips that I go by,

1. Variety of food. Even if it's a small tea party, cupcakes and cookies might be enough but there should still be some options as some of your guests might be vegan, vegetarian or lactose intolerant.

2. Seating. Encourage your guests to talk to strangers. Instead of seating people who already know each other together, try pairing guests who share similar interests next to each other. Placing place cards are also a great idea and lets guests know that you care.

3. Lighting. Lighting matters whether the tea party is held indoors or outdoors. My favorite type of lighting is candlelight. Everyone looks better with candlelight.

4. Self Service. Set up a self service bar so that guests don't have to wait for their drinks.

5. Games. Fun trivia questions related to your party theme, in this case Alice in Wonderland, can be a great way to entertain guests.

It's been awhile since I've worn rings other than the one that I always wear (mainly because it won't come off. Trust me, I've tried everything) simply because I was quite over the multiple rings thing and wanted to go the simpler route. However, I couldn't pass on these simple yet adorable XO rings from JewelMint.

Contrary to my last post, it's actually getting chilly in LA although it's nothing like the east coast. I always carry a jacket in my car since mornings and nights are a lot cooler in California. In this case, it's this Nine West coat. The cool thing about this coat is that it actually comes with detachable sleeves which I removed since I roll up my sleeves anyways.

I wore these sunglasses back in Miami when I was shooting for the Vogue Eyewear campaign and felt like these were absolutely perfect for Miami because they are so bright, retro and sexy all at once but that also means it's easy to incorporate them into my everyday outfit in LA. I'm such a huge sucker for gold so the gold accents make them so much more lovable. I love goooold..... (remember Austin Powers?)

Ombre Glitter Nails

I hardly ever paint my nails as I'm constantly using my hands (thus my nails are always short) but while I was in New York at Duane Reade looking for junk food on my first night, I couldn't resist all the pretty nail polishes. I remember seeing Alexa Chung at the CFDA/Sunglass Hut event the other time I was in New York, and her nails were painted in a glittery green polish. Although not ombre, I thought it'd be cool to try the ombre effect in glitter. It's a lot sparkly and glittery in person than in pictures.

These were taken a couple of weeks ago when it was an unusually cold and foggy morning right before the LA heatwave. Well, cold for LA since anything under 70 degrees is cold for wussy me. When I go to job sites aka construction sites, I rarely wear heels (although I do pack them) and wear the most comfortable clothes possible, that are also easy to use the bathroom in (no rompers, ever). Although I'm a firm believer of accessorizing, I don't wear much jewelry when working since it gets in the way... but as always, there are a few bracelets at the bottom of my bag just incase.

P.S. I wore a very similar outfit on the plane to New York. I'm so excited for the grand opening of the C. Wonder store. Hope you guys can make it!

Pit Bills get such a bad reputation because of evil people who use them for dog fights, breeding them to be aggressive, but the truth is, they are one of the sweetest and most loyal dogs ever. First day of New York Fashion Week, my feet were already sore from walking for a prolonged period of time in heels the night before so I had my heels in my bag and wore my boots to Lincoln Center. Before I was able to switch shoes, I was snapped by a few street style photographers and later on during the day, I fell face flat at the CVS pharmacy in these boots which I think was quite ironic. During the next few days, I either wore pants or a huge band aid.

I'm still pinching myself as I still can't believe I was at Kelly Wearstler's house, whom I have admired for so long, and has been one of my biggest design heroes every since I opened my eyes to interior design. I actually applied to the same college that she went to just because I wanted to follow in her footsteps although I ended up going to a different school.

Kelly is such a beautiful (and approachable!) woman, mother, and living icon, she even handwritten all of the bloggers' names, although she misspelt mine.. at least she pronounced it correctly!

I'm sure by now you have all seen pictures of Kelly's beautiful home, but if you haven't you can see them on her site Here and while you're there, be amazed by her new clothing line!

On Wednesday I flew to New York to attend the launch party for the Vogue Eyewear/CFDA City Collection that was held at the Sunglass Hut Flagship. I was in great company as you can see from the pictures. Jane and Natalie were the other two bloggers that were selected for this collection (Jane's hair is to die for.. not to mention her porcelain skin) and imagine my joy when Alexa Chung walks into the room. She looks exactly the same and was super sweet to everyone. I was so sick this day so everything was quite a blur and seems like a dream. Nonetheless, I did have a great time

I picked up this Theyskens Theory top at Edit during my stay in New York for Fashion Week. It was the longest time I've ever spent in a clothing store as most of my shopping is done online but from rack to rack, room to room, there were so many great items that it was just hard to leave the store. You must check out the store if you're ever in New York!

I wore this outfit to my best friend's sister's wedding and I've been meaning to do a 'What to Wear to a Wedding' post as I get a lot of requests. The most important thing for me when dressing for a wedding is, (ok, this might sound selfish) comfort as I look forward to the reception. Thankfully this Zara skirt is one size too big so it's quite perfect for times when I'm determined to overeat.

CFDA/Vogue Eyewear Miami Video with Monica Botkier

A couple of months ago, I was flown to Miami to film a fun little video for CFDA/Vogue Eyewear 2011 Capsule Collection. Monica Botkier from Botkier designed her very first pair of sunglasses inspired by the vibrant city of Miami which will be sold exclusively at Sunglass Hut starting September 29th.

We went to all of these amazing kitschy yet hip places in Miami that inspired Monica to design these amazing sunglasses. Being a lover of all things gold, I couldn't help but fall in love with the sunglasses Monica designed. Hope you guys enjoy this fun video of us and fall in love with her sunglasses and Miami like I did!

By the way, Monica filmed the first part before ever meeting me so she accidentally mispronounced my name. My name is pronounced Ah-Mee, rhymes with Mommy.

Tory Burch Spring 2012

Emphasizing on special details, Tory Burch's first runway show was a huge success and a show not to be missed. With Arizona Muse opening the runway with dainty music playing in the background, I felt like I was watching a Parisian movie full of young, fun, classy ladies on vacation. My personal favorite was the raffia trim jacket with the matching bejeweled top with the absolutely adorable bow kitten heels. I loved every one of the shoes that the models wore and even though I have no patience for golf, if I had those golf shoes I might just have to start playing golf.

I was also lucky enough to attend the opening of her Madison Avenue store the day before the runway and was blown away with all the great details and decor. The store is filled with color and prints and feels like your in the most stylish woman's town house. It's quite hard to go from one room to another because you spend so much time taking in all the great decor in one room only to be blown away by the next room. The first carpet above was apparently inspired by Tory's mother's bathing suit! How awesome is that?

Concept Korea

For four seasons in a row, Concept Korea has selected a few South Korean designers to showcase their collections at Lincoln Center. It was one of the few presentations that Wesley Mason and I were both able to enjoy as there was also menswear. The menswear you see here is Resurrection by Juyoung, and I wanted to make a smaller version of each and everyone of her pieces so that I could wear it. The wetsuit-like blazer was too good to pass, not to mention the bright orange color that was striking. Another favorite of mine were the colorful and cheery prints by the designers Steve J & Yoni P. What I'd give to wear the matching blazer, top, and shorts with the green clutch.

I've never paid much attention to Korean designers, but after this presentation, I'm quite interested in seeing more and could totally picture all of these designers becoming mainstream.
